Logistics & Treatment FAQs

Everything you need to know about your initial visit, payment plans, treatment timing, and post-care retention.

What happens at my first visit?

Your first visit is an in-depth consultation. Dr. Gopi Sankar Banik or Dr. Trisna Saha will examine your teeth and bite, discuss your goals, take digital intraoral scans or X-rays, and provide a clear treatment plan with no obligation.

How long does treatment usually take?

Treatment length depends on your specific needs — ranging from 6 months for minor cosmetic alignment up to 18–24 months for comprehensive orthodontic bite correction.

Is there a right age to start orthodontic treatment?

Orthodontic care helps patients of many ages! The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a child's first evaluation by age 7. Adults and teens also achieve excellent results with aligners and ceramic braces.

What payment options and EMIs are available?

We accept Cash, bKash, Nagad, Rocket, and 0% Interest Credit Card EMIs (City Bank, BRAC, DBBL, EBL) with flexible installment plans up to 24 months.

Where is the clinic located and what are visiting hours?

DentOral Dental Care is located at 27, B. K. Das Road, Sutrapur, Dhaka-1100. Visiting Hours: Saturday – Thursday, 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM (Friday by appointment).

How do Clear Aligners work, and why are post-treatment retainers necessary?

Clear Aligners: Removable, 100% invisible custom 3D transparent aligner trays worn 20–22 hours daily for comfortable aesthetic alignment.
Retainers: Mandatory post-alignment (Hawley acrylic, clear Essix, or lingual bonded wire retainers) to lock in your straight teeth while surrounding bone and gum tissues stabilize, preventing them from shifting back.

What is Teeth Crowding and how is it corrected?

Teeth Crowding (Arch Deficits): Crowding occurs when there isn't enough space in the jaw for every tooth to sit straight, causing teeth to overlap or twist. Braces or clear aligners create room and guide teeth into smooth alignment.
Parent Guide: Crowding is common as permanent teeth erupt. Early child evaluation (recommended by age 7) helps determine if early interceptive guidance can create space naturally without extraction.

What is an Overbite and how is it treated?

Overbite & Deep Bite: A deep bite or overbite is when the upper front teeth excessively overlap the lower front teeth, which can cause uneven enamel wear or jaw joint discomfort. Orthodontics levels the bite and aligns vertical heights.
Parent Guide: In growing children, overbites are closely linked to jaw growth. Timely screening allows Dr. Gopi Sankar Banik to guide healthy lower jaw development forward, correcting both bite and facial profile aesthetics.

What are the options for braces at DentOral?

We provide advanced options to suit every patient's lifestyle and goals:
Metal Braces: Traditional, high-durability stainless-steel brackets with customizable tie-color options.
Ceramic Braces: Clear, tooth-colored aesthetic brackets that blend in seamlessly with natural enamel.
Self-Ligating Braces: Built-in clip mechanism that reduces friction, speeds tooth movement, and requires fewer adjustments.

What is Root Canal Therapy and when is it needed?

Root Canal Therapy (Endodontics): Needed to treat deep decay or bacterial infection inside the tooth pulp to save your natural tooth. It is a pain-free procedure that cleans, shapes, and seals internal root canals, followed by a protective crown restoration.

How do Dental Implants work, and what is Periodontal gum care?

Dental Implants: Titanium posts placed in the jaw bone that act as synthetic roots to support permanent aesthetic crowns.
Periodontal Care: Deep scaling, root planing, and gum treatments to treat infection, protecting the bone and supporting tissue surrounding your teeth.
